Carter was diagnosed with Optic Pathway Glioma (a type of brain tumor) at the age of 15 months and has undergone chemo to treat those tumors on the optic nerves~eye sight has not improved~he is almost blind~he was diagnosed with Neurofibroma in his thigh at the age of two and will have surgery Oct 30th to hopefully remove this tumor! Please keep him in your prayers!Carter is the son of Shawna(our niece)& Ryan Richardson of Jacksonville Florida. Bob & I will be going up to be with Shawna & Ryan during Carter's surgery.

WE WILL KEEP HIM IN OUR PRAYERS, AND HOPE THAT EVERYTHING GOES GOOD FOR THE LITTLE GUY, IT IS SO SAD WHEN THEY ARE SO YOUNG. IT IS GOOD YOU GUYS CAN BE THERE WITH SHAWNA. IS THAT WHERE THEY LIVE, IN FLORIDA?

Yes they live in Florida~Shawna just had twins girls a few months ago and they also have an older daughter Shaye who is 10~I think? Chris, Bob's sister (Shawna's Mom) is staying in Jacksonville with the 3 girls while Shawna, Ryan and Carter come to Chicago. The Doctor doing the surgery is supposed to be one of the best in removing this type of tumor. And yes Carter has had a rough time of it~but he is also one of the most active & funniest little guys around.

Oh, this so sad to hear. I know he will have many people praying for him and hoping for the best. It just breaks your heart to know a child has to go through something like this. I will definitely keep him and the rest of his family in my prayers. Miracles do happen!
