Swine Flu? Survey
Who is and who isn't getting the vaccination??? Just wondering ~ I did get mine already because of where I work ~ any opinions welcome
That's funny you asked. We just had a discussion at work about this. We are not getting the shot. Most peoples immune systems are down already because of the bugs that are going around. Don't wanna put a live virus in us to make our bodies work even harder or maybe not at all to fight that one off. Count us as a no...also because I don't believe in shots and what they have in them ever since Kylie passed. Love you all!! Have a safe Halloween.
There's no way I or anyone in my family is going to get that shot. Even nurses at work said they wouldn't get it. It's too new and they don't trust it. I don't even think people need a regular flu shot. Your body needs to be able to fight things off, so to be immune to everything makes your body weak. And Mike says the only shot we're getting is a shot of Patron (tequilla).:-)
I DON'T EVEN GET A REGULAR FLU SHOT, AND WE'VE SEEN A LOT OF PEOPLE JUST THE PAST FEW WEEKS WITH THE FLU, I'LL JUST TAKE MY CHANGES OF GETTING SICK A FEW DAYS RATHER THAN GETTING A SHOT. YEARS AGO WHEN THERE WAS SOME OTHER SORT OF SWINE FLU GOING AROUND,IN THE 70'S I GOT THE SHOT THEN,AND I HAD NEVER FELT SO SICK AND WEAK AS I DID THEN, SO NO I'LL PASS. ONLY ONE GIRL AT OUR OFFICE GOT IT,AND SHE HAS HODGKIN'S AND HAD JUST GONE THROUGH TREATMENTS SO HER SYSTEM IS PROBABLY DOWN.ANYWAY EVERYTHING WILL BE GOOD AS SOON THE THE MEDIA LIGHTENS UP ON THE WHOLE THING.OH, AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!!! SO MIKE AND ANGIE ARE YOU HAVING A GOOD TIME IN COLORADO?
I just don't know what to do. I have this fear that if I don't get my kids the shot they are going to get it and end up in the hospital. I would be so upset with myself if I could have done something to prevent it. On the other hand it scares me to have them get it. Kyle doesn't want them to have it cause his Dad is against it, he is also againt the regular flu shot. With him being a Dr. Kyle listens to everything he says. One day I say yes they are and then the next I say no they aren't.. Evie isn't even 6 months yet (but will be on the 5th) so she can't have it and I think with the 6 months shots it might just be too much for her to get the swine flu shot.
Yes we are having a good time. Seeing alot of things that we didn't expect--like an Olympic Alpine ski jumper- practicing in a small competition. What was cool was there was no snow! I have pictures and will post them next week. Then it will make sense. Went swimming outside while it was snowing- the water was heated and we weren't cold.
Mike and Angie, glad to hear you are having a good time in Colorado! I bet it is very pretty there. Enjoy your trip. Just don't bring that snow back with you. I love it, but not ready for it yet. Oh, Lisa and Brian are in Miami now. Barack Obama is staying in the Hotel right next to theirs. They saw his motorcade yesterday when he was arriving. Lisa said there was security and police all around. Said it was quite interesting to watch.
Hello everyone!! It is interesting to hear all the different thoughts about the shots!! I went back and forth about the shots and I did have my kids did get them. I felt the same way as Nikki does!! After all we went through last year we decided to do all we could to protect them from whatever we could!! Lisa says it is producted just like the regular flu shot they just take the virus from the previous year?? It's a hard decision to make and I'm sure Nikki your kids will be fine either way they are healthy kids!
I'm glad to hear that Nikki. I was glad that Jill and Doug got the shot for Noah and Sophia also. There is way too much of the swine flu out there and I think we have to do whatever we can to keep the kids healthy.
THERE WAS A NURSE WHO WORKED AT OUR OFFICE,THEY MOVED 2 YRS AGO TO ARKANSAS, HER LITTLE 7 YR. OLD GOT SICK WITH SWINE FLU AND DIED 2 MONTHS AGO, BEFORE THEY STARTED GIVING THE VACCINE,I'M SURE SHE WOULD GIVE ANYTHING IF SHE COULD HAVE GOTTEN HER DAUGHTER THE SHOT AND POSIBLY SAVED HER. ANYWAY, YES WE HAVE TO DO WHATEVER WE CAN TO KEEP THEM HEALTHY, AND WHATEVER CHOICE YOU MAKE IS THE RIGHT ONE.

Well, I guess everyone has to do what they feel is best for them. Roscoe and I did get the regular flu shot.
